THE LORD’S COMPASSION

“If you come across a bird’s nest beside the road, either in a tree or on the ground, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, do not take the mother with the young. You may take the young, but be sure to let the mother go, so that it may go well with you and you may have a long life.” Deuteronomy 22:6-7 NIV

The book of Deuteronomy is all about dos and don’ts that our forefathers failed at for the most part, demonstrating the absolute and dire need for the grace which we have now received.

But in it we see how compassionate and all knowing God is, that He cares for the multiplication and preservation of families even for beasts and birds. This reminds us of the exhortation in Matthew 6, that if he cares for birds in the sky and clothes the plants of the field as demonstrated in our theme scripture, how much more you who has His very breath in you ?

Child of God, today I challenge you to come up higher. Don’t be consumed by the surrounding circumstances, but come higher than what is temporary. This is by no means to negate the weight, pain or loss you may be experiencing, but a reminder that it is in our praises and thanksgiving for what’s already been done that our God is enthroned (Psalm 22:3).

Praise God!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I praise you in the valley lows as much as I do on the top of the mountain. I know of your everlasting love and remind my soul of the finished work of that calls me your child. To this I praise with gratitude, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
