THE MIND AND FAITH

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV

A mind that is not renewed is unable to grasp divine wisdom because the wisdom of God is foolishness to carnal men (1 Corinthians 3:19).

The renewal of the mind demands an openness to divine realities. For example it is fitting for the renewed mind to believe that God desires them well and not sickly (Isaiah 33:24), wealthy and not struggling (Psalm 128:2), fruitful and not barren (Deuteronomy 28:4), progressive and not stranded (Proverbs 4:18) — I could go on and on.This does not negate that circumstances aren’t always as described above, but it is also what makes faith the substance of things not seen, evidence of things hoped for (Hebrews 11:1) and the reason to hope for none hopes for what they already have (Romans 8:24).

Child of God, only with the mind able to grasp and believe divine realities can the cloud over the will of God dissolve. It is impossible to have such realities sink in until they become a reality to your present life unless your mind and girded by the newness Christ brings. Selah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this truth. I have exercised my spirit to see beyond present circumstances that I may not limit the blessings with my name on it. It is by the eyes of your spirit, and the heart after your own that I am able to grasp your promises and walk with them into manifestation in Jesus’ name. Amen!
