THE VISIONS OF PRAYER (I)

“The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now. I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.” Acts of the Apostles 9:11-12 NLT

The place of prayer is the most reliable place of dialogue with our heavenly Father.

I cannot stress how important it is to be our most engaged self when we pray, because great exchanges happen in there. As told in our theme scripture, the Lord was instructing one man to do something while instructing another to expect something.

When we pray, oftentimes we will get images and thoughts of things and people we may or may not know. Many might be quick to dismiss such prompts qualifying it as distractions but I would like to encourage you to pay attention to such and follow the spirit’s lead.

Some may be invitations to stand in the gap and thwart the enemy’s attacks whether it’s against you or others, some may be to stand in the gap for nations, friends, or even celebrities and things to come.

Do not neglect the promptings of the Holy Spirit in prayer for you are the righteous man whose prayer avails much and is dynamic in power (James 5:16). Hallelujah!

Prayer: Father I thank you for this wisdom. I am engaged and attentive to the promptings of the spirit in prayer. I desire to be faithful and trustworthy to stand in the gap for what moves your heart, in Jesus mighty name. Amen!
